The mesh of the majority of retractable fly screens rolls inside it thanks to a spring-loaded tube. This can be frustrating for users, especially the elderly and young children, as you have to use extra effort to “fight” the strain in order to extend the screen, especially in wide openings.

We provide a creative solution with our pleated insect fly screen. Pleated screens use mesh that operates like an accordion or concertina rather than mesh that rolls into a cassette (like a roller blind). Due to the concertina shape, it is quite simple to fold and stack the pleats back on top of one another after they have been retracted. With bifold and stacker doors in particular, this style is appropriate for large openings.
